Do As the Romans Do

Site: http://www.personal.psu.edu/users/w/x/wxk116/roma/rbgames.html

What did the ancient Romans do for fun, you ask? Well after the pansexual orgy had run its course, it was usually a good time to whip out a board game. Most of these were similar to our modern games of checkers and backgammon, with different colored or textured stones used as pieces. This well-maintained site explains the rules and origins of eight popular Roman board games, including such favorites as Latrunculi, Tabula, and Terni Lapilli. While none of these seems primed to replace Sorry or Headache in my game closet any time soon, I was fascinated to learn how much I have in common with this noble and ancient race.
