Java: an inside perspective

Site: http://www.javacoffeebreak.com/articles/inside_java/insidejava-j

Have you visited Java Coffee Break yet? One of the site's neat features is David Reilly's Inside Java column, where (this month) he picks apart the JVM (Java Virtual Machine), which is what "allows Java Code to be executed on a wide variety of hardware and software environments." Computers may not be able to think like people (yet), but you don't need much imagination to see how a Darwinian sense of adaptability contributes mightily to its popularity. Click on the link above to learn how the JVM works and its implementation differences. An interesting read.
