The Gay and Lesbian Activists Alliance (GLAA) is the oldest continuously active gay and lesbian civil rights organization in the country per their site. Their archives brings the history of this effective organization since its start in 1971. The site offers topical news related to civil rights issues and a large resource section. Largely a Washington, D.C. organization, members are accepted from other areas, and the GLAA is very active in states in the greater capital area. The News stories on the home page will keep you up-to-date on some major GLBT current events. Click on Projects to find out background on the issues in which GLAA is active. If you live in the D.C. area you can find out the schedule for upcoming gatherings under Meetings, but no matter where you reside you'll find much of interest here.
