Used to be, you'd have to trek to Sundance in Utah, SxSW in Austin, or another film festival to catch short films. Now you can watch them on the Net, thanks to the dedicated lovers of indie film at UndergroundFilm.com. Screen dozens of shorts and short-shorts right in your browser. Typically around five minutes long but some as short as 15 seconds, others as long as an hour, these mini-movies run the gamut from action and animation (like *Kung-Fu Kitchen* in "Vegetablese with English subtitles") to documentaries and mockumentaries to music videos and clips of full-length below-the-radar films. You'll also find unproduced screenplays, samples of music from film score composers, and discussion forums to hash over it all. Think you've got what it takes to make it as an indie filmmaker?
