Punjabi Music Comes Alive

If you're a fan of Punjabi music, you'll have a field day downloading sounds and reading up on popular artists at this Punjabi music website. Part of a larger site devoted to northern Indian life and culture, this music section leaves no stone unturned, although a few of the pages were still in development when I visited. Worthy of special note is the section on Punjabi musical instruments, which provides short descriptions as well as thumbnails of such traditional folk instruments as the dhad, the damru, and the sarangi. Also impressive is the extensive RealAudio archive of Bhangra, a lively form of folk music and dance often played at Punjabi weddings.
