are we overlawyered?

In July, 1999, Walter Olson got fed up. Frustrated by the dearth of attempts "to collect, annotate, and present in a systematic way the growing quantity of online material documenting the need for reform of the American civil justice system," he created Overlawyered.com. This site chronicles what Olson believe to be particularly egregious examples of oppressive, waste-of-time, waste-of-money litigation. In addition to the stories of the day, the site includes collections of articles on Olson's pet topics, including "Family Law Blues," "Overlawyered Schools," "Tobacco Tycoons" and more. While the idea that the legal system should remain out of these and other issues is debatable, there's so questioning the terrific work Olson has done bringing together a variety of provocative, entertaining reads.
