One plus one equals two?

Not in the case of Drugstore.com's recent purchase of Beauty.com. Drugstore's price dipped following the announcement, subsequently devaluing the acquisition--but analyst Steve Weinstein protests that the slip is unrelated to the announcement. Oh really?. Is the market reaction a dismissable blip, or does it signal a prophetic redefinition of the conventional idea of synergy? Time will tell.
