McMurdo's Scottish Golf History is a site that must be visited by those golfers cursed with a bent toward historical gems relating to their special interests! This offering is tastefully devoid of any cyberfluff and does not attempt to overwhelm you with graphics of rolling fairways and undulating greens. Ninety percent of the site is text that is artfully arranged and tastefully presented. No bells and whistles here! Did you know that in 1457 King James banned the sports of futeball and golfe in favor of archery and other military arts? Guess he was a little paranoid. The site further presents a brief on the creation of the Scottish/British Open championship in 1860.
