Ourhouse.com isn't in the middle of the street.

Ourhouse.com is a recent addition to the home improvement community on the Internet. This site, in partnership with Ace, has an amazing number of home-improvement items to sell, but even if you're not in shopping mode you'll find much to occupy yourself with here. The how-to section (click "Project Index") has a heap of well-written articles on any home project you can imagine. There is, however, one feature that I have been especially waiting for. From inside of each how-to, there is a list of things that you will need for the project. That's nothing new, but you can select the items that you need and buy only the ones you do not have, all at once right on the site. Contrast this with having to trudge back and forth across a web site picking the items you need. Overall, an good site when you need to find home-improvement hardware, and get find DIY how-tos.
