Top » Boating & SailingSouth for the winterSite: http://www.carib1500.comLast November I was lucky enough to crew aboard Sea Duty, a Pearson 424, on the Caribbean 1500 Rally/Race. Every night at 7:00 PM, all the other 55 or so boats would check in with us on their SSb radio and give their positions. One of our crew members would check with his son in Albany and then this information would be uploaded to this site. My wife would log onto the site to find out where I was between Hampton, Virginia, and Virgin Gorda, BWI. In addition to the race information, this site provides information about safety seminars (next one is March 17 to 19) with Steve Black and Hal Sutphen. It also provides a page of "Things you should know" to prepare for an ocean voyage. The information on the Bermuda Rally, a low key race/rally from Hampton, Virginia, to Bermuda and back, (usually in June) does need to be updated for 2000. Log on and view an excellent description of last year's rally with pictures. Thu, 16 Mar 2000 07:40:31 -0800
