A bell tolls

The news about Sam Schmidt's injury is in, and unfortunately, it's not good. Despite the best attempts of doctors to repair Schmidt's spine (the result of his accident at the Walt Disney World Speedway last week), it appears that the damage to the spinal cord is permanent, which means that Schmidt will probably remain a quadriplegic. This a sad ending to the Indy racer's career, which was starting to look up after his end-of-season accident last year.
