Heard the news about how a cybersquatter has already registered gwbush.com? Well, the days of six-figure URL bounties may be nearing their end. Players in all aspects of the Internet have been watching expectantly to see how the courts will rule on this quickly escalating issue, and one of the first benchmarks has at last been reached: an Eastern District New York judge has side with a company called Bargainbid.com, which sued a man who registered a very similar URL (barginbid) in an alleged attempt to divert traffic to a competitor's site--during holiday season, no less.
