Although Heinrich Schütz may have never attained the fame of his predecessor, J.S. Bach, he was one of the most prominent German musicians of his time, and a notably prolific church composer to boot. Ines's site is a wonderful resource for anyone interested in learning more about the man the webmaster describes as "the musical authority of his century." At this site, you'll have access to a detailed biography, a rather hard-to-read map, MIDI files, and links to other sites about Schütz and related people and issue. There's also a section called "Sacred Vocal Music" that looks interesting, but it kept crashing my computer, so caveat surfer!
