We've all heard of--and laughed with--the Unknown Comic. Is it time we turned our attention to the Unknown Composer? Jim Moskowitz, the proprietor of this website, seems to think so. He's devoted an entire page to classical composers who, for one reason or another, have gone relatively unappreciated but still made valuable contributions to the genre. Along the way, Moskowitz mixes in his reviews of lesser-known works by famous composers, including Aaron Copland, John Cage, and Richard Wagner. And did you know that Efrem Zimbalist Sr. wrote a violin sonata? I didn't, until I read it here.
