a new place for old time music

In the late-nineteenth- to early-twentieth centuries, a "deeply authentic" musical style flourished in the U.S., especially in the Appalachian region. A love of this art form--encompassing folk, country, and bluegrass traditions--inspired David Lynch (not the filmmaker) to create his website. At OldTimeMusic.com, you can access listings of concerts and festivals of interest to old time music aficionados, a summary of relevant recent news (such as book and album releases), and a terrific Fiddlers Hall of Fame, in which you'll find photos, biographies, and audio clips of some of fiddling's greats from years past. A true labor of love, this site is a wonderful resource, and an engrossing place to learn more about performers who have slipped out of America's consciousness.
