Keeping Up With The New Area Codes: Call Routing.

Providers of telecommunications equipment, including PBX systems, FAX machines, and many other types of equipment with automatic dialing have their hands full when it comes to keeping up with new area codes and the accompanying dialing changes. The Traffic Routing Administration (TRA) supports an intercompany information exchange process for the telecommunications industry in the areas of numbering, routing, and rating calls. The TRA site provides downloadable documents and data covering a wide range of call routing situations, as well as links to sites that are related to their activities. Additionally, information on scheduled workshops that review related industry processes (e.g. Central Office Code assignments), basic rating and routing terminology, and TRA output is available.
