Online shopping: strong and getting stronger

The figures are in, and just in case you were wondering, internet purchases in 1999 were well over '98 figures, and all signs indicate that the numbers will double again by the time we *really* enter the next millennium in 2001. In addition to increased internet access, the retailers get credit as well for improving and facilitating online buying with improved interface design; and the proliferation of broadband technologies certainly isn't hurting the trend either.
