No matter where you stand on the East Side-West Side dispute, you've got to admit that some pretty skilled rappers came from the left coast. At the West Side Tribute, you'll find album reviews (featured now: Dr. Dre's 2001, which earned the highest-possible rating of five marijuana leaves). The RealAudio area contains a solid mix of West Coast hip hop's finest of the past and present, including NWA, Warren G, and Kurupt. The links are fairly limited, but a reasonably active message board provides a good opportunity to sound off on what West Coast stuff is on your mind. One drawback to the site: the annoying explosion of pop-up ads that materialize each time you move to a new page. Just be prepared to minimize them for uninterrupted reading pleasure.
