Top » Business: E-Commercepriceline's honcho sounds offSite: http://www.ecommercetimes.com/news/articles2000/000118-1.shtmlSometimes, while vegging out in front of the tube, I find myself strangely mesmerized by those William Shatner commercials in which Captain Kirk belts out bizarre ditties in some sort of neo-beatnik coffeehouse. My interest the ads' sponsor, Priceline, has been thoroughly piqued, so I was delighted to find this interview with the company's vice-chair and founder, Jay Walker, at E-Commerce Times. In this two-part Q&A (follow the link at the bottom of this page to get to the second section), Walker discusses the strategy behind his "name your own price" model, the trends he sees coming, and his advice to Web retail upstarts. He even talks about the involvement of Star Trek's main man, though a bit too briefly for my taste, I must say. Still, it's a useful, involving read. Thu, 20 Jan 2000 04:14:27 -0800
