You might think that one of the roles of federal law enforcement would be to PROTECT us from breaches of computer security, not initiate those breaches itself. Now word comes via Wired News that President Clinton has given his blessing to a plan to send federal agents into the homes of suspected criminals to install software designed to tap into and decipher scrambled communications.
