There are few sites with good writing, truly original articles, statistical analysis, and opinionated arguments. But that is what you'll find at Scott Shewbridge's Wine Inquiries site. From the viewpoint of a middle-class American consumer, Scott takes on the wine business. He examines scoring at wine tastings, proposes a more useful 100-point system, evaluates aging predictions, and statistically compares amateur and professional scores. It's not all serious; his light-hearted look at abuses on wine bulletin boards made me smile. Set aside some time when you can give your full attention to this thought-provoking site.
