Top » Science & TechnologyAlchemy Web SiteSite: http://www.levity.com/alchemy/home.htmlBefore you knock alchemy as a dead "science," check this site out. By modern standards, alchemy would hardly qualify as science at all. Its findings are impossible to follow. Its methods are obscure. And its basic goal, the discovery of the philosopher's stone, is decidedly unscientific. Yet, as embarrassingly futile as alchemy was and is, no less of a genius than Isaac Newton thought and wrote otherwise. Newton, in fact, spent more time and spilled more ink on Alchemy than on any other "scientific pursuit." He did all this after he had solved the other riddles of the cosmos. The Alchemy website is the largest online source for material on this controversial subject. There are over 1,300 sections here providing tens of thousands of pages of text! This enormously fascinating site is easily searchable and organized in a no-nonsense way that's ideal for historians of science or serious seekers of occult "truths." A fabulous and fun site.
