Explore the Science of Baseball

Site: http://www.exploratorium.edu/baseball

The last time I visited San Francisco, I made plans to stop by the Exploratorium, the cuty's highly-regarded science museum. Unfortunately, sightseeing got a little out of control and I was forced to scratch this destination from my itinerary. After viewing this engaging portion of the museum's website, covering the "Science of Baseball," I wish I had reconsidered. This site uses colorful illustrations and the latest interactive gewgaws to teach visitors about the physics of a curveball, how weather conditions can affect hitting, and where to find the "sweet spot" on a baseball bat. You can also test your reaction time in a Shockwave feature where you get to "swing" at a blazing fastball. So whether you're a baseball fanatic looking to learn some basic science or a science buff in need of an exciting new teaching tool, this site's a grand slam.
