Move Over, Western Union!

Up until now, people have had three basic options for sending money to other people--a check in the mail, a federal wire transfer, or a service like Western Union. There has to be a more personal technology solution for this common situation. That is what Peter Thiel must have been thinking as the developed the concept for PayPal.com, an online service that hopes to be able to "beam" funds to your e-mail or Palm Pilot in the near future.
