Gore's Plethora of Proposals

Site: http://www.rollcall.com/commentary/kondracke.html

Vice President Al Gore has thus far been politically trampled by his main opposition, Texas Gov. George W. Bush, in the presidential race for 2000. Al Gore is, however, the frontrunner in the impending race of policy proposals. The article on RollCall.com details how the Vice President has waged his campaign by announcing a myriad of proposals through speeches on crime, economic innovation, education, and the environment. One particulary intriguing notion comes from Gore's proposal of harsher sentences for the perpetrators of violent crimes in the presence of young children. In a political atmosphere dominated by the savvy George W. Bush and "compassionate conservatism," Al Gore's path of proposals may not be enough to catch up. Sean McEachern
