Going GAGA for Estee Lauder and MAC

Lady Gaga, along with Cyndi Lauper has partnered with Estee Lauder to become their spokesperson for this year’s campaign of MAC Viva Glam.

Two new shades of lipstick were added to Mac’s Viva Glam line, one for Gaga and the other for Lauper. All proceeds go to Mac AIDS Fund to assist in AIDS research. The campaign has proven to be a success so far with the first month’s sales exceeding $1.1M

Kris Allen for Idol Gives Back Performs ‘Let It Be’ for Haitian Relief

I actually had some time to relax and watch American Idol last night and I’m so glad I did. Kris Allen, AI season 8 winner, gave a very moving, acoustic performance of the Beatle’s “Let It Be”. Kris recently traveled to Haiti with the United Nations Foundation to help with the relief efforts. Footage of his trip played in the background as Kris performed on last night’s tribute to Haiti.

His performance will be available on iTunes and all proceeds will go to Haitian relief.

Hope for Haiti Telethon a Success

The Hollywood elite banded together on every major network in America on Friday to benefit the victims of the Haiti earthquake. Celebrities such as Tobey Maguire, Meg Ryan, Tim Robbins, Charlize Theron, Julia Roberts, Reese Witherspoon, Brad Pitt, Drew Barrymore, Mel Gibson and many others manned the phones while Beyonce, Madonna, Rihanna, Justin Timberlake, Jay-Z, Taylor Swift, along with others performed. The telethon raised more than $57 million. The star-studded event shattered records for money donated by the public through a telethon.

Wyclef's Twitter urging everyone to help Haiti

Haitian-born musician Wyclef Jean has been leading the charge to help victims of the devastating earthquake in Haiti. In 2005, Jean started the Yele Haiti charity organization, whose purpose is to restore pride and hope to the Haitian people. After the earthquake on Tuesday, Yele Haiti was among the first to initiate an appeal for aid via Twitter.

Jean is encouraging people to text “Yele” to 501501, which will automatically donate $5 to the Yele Haiti Earthquake Fund.
Jean’s former group, The Fugees coined the term “Yele” in a song, which means “a cry for freedom”.

In an effort to push the awareness of Project (RED), a charity that aims to eliminate AIDS in Africa, Lady Gaga announced a new Monster (RED) Special Edition Beats Solo Headphone. $5 from each sale will go directly to Project (RED) to support AIDS programs in Africa that provide testing, counseling, treatment and other services for those affected by AIDS

Gaga also announced that they are releasing a special Red Heartbeats headphones that will come with an acoustic version of Poker Face.

The Daily Beast reported that JT has been dubbed the title, having raised $9.3 million for Shriners Hospitals for Children. Second place was given to celebrity givers: Madonna ($5.5 million for Raising Malawi) Pamela Anderson ($4.8 million for PETA), Oprah ($4 million for Oprah’s Angel Network), and Bono ($3.5 million for the ONE campaign).
