HPQ, The HP Question, What Comes Next
What do you do when a company becomes a conglomerateas HP (HPQ) has? It is hard to shine when positive market share changes on one business unit or the other are difficult to come by due to a highly competitive environment. Give me a company in a robust sector where the company can both distinguish itself as a leader and differentiate itself from the competition. HP used to be synonymous with printers in the office environment, now, even though HP printers are still highly rated, in most offices you’ll find a mix of printers. Servers, there’s another killer marketplace. Will the company make any dramatic changes to its course, I’d be surprised. It’s hard to steer a ship that large through a crowded harbor.
