Christo and Jeanne-Claude Gates in Central Park
Christo and Jeanne-Claude, dropped over $20 million for “The Gates” in Manhattan’s Central Park. Millions of people came into the city from far and wide to see the gates. City officials announced that over 1 million people have passed through the gates in first four days. That means many of those visitors came into the city and spent money. Looks like even through there were some costs to the city it looks like the event/exhibit will be an economic driver. Even the Park Conservancy is selling souvineers.
