Men v’s Women
When I was a kid there was a saying that women had cleaner minds than men because they changed them so often. So when she said “no” it could mean “yes,” “perhaps,” or “I have a headache.”
It now appears that there is sound science behind the feminine mystique .
A study published in the journal Nature reveals that women are far more complex then men. Men are simple, predictable boors - what you see is what you get - while women are an inscrutable species. The difference is due to their chromosomes, which are better than ours. Researchers predict that in the fullness of evolutionary time, a few million years from now, the chromosomal deficiency will lead to the disappearance of men.
This finding has enormous implications. When men no longer roam this earth, who will:
1. Declare war
2. Take out the garbage
3. Carve the turkey
4. Take up two seats on the train
5. Kill the spider
6. Do up the zipper
7. Be yelled at
8. Refuse to ask for directions
9. Make peace
10. Make love
This feels like a cold world, so here’s a modest proposal: Why doesn’t the fairer sex give us brutes some of their civilizing chromosomes. It would be a grand gesture that could save the world. The only wrinkle is if they agree will they mean it.
