Annika Sorenstam leads LPGA Golf Championship
Annika Sorenstam is leading the LPGA Kraft Nabisco Championship. Annika is likely a better golfer than any guy I can think of including some scratch golfers. The popularity of women’s golf or ladies golf as it is called, has skyrocketed. This has driven TV viewership higher and both advertisers and sponsors have dug deeper to reach the new fans delivering a 1.8 million dollar purse. Online searches for the hot current LPGA players such as Rosie Jones, Hyun Kim, Grace Park and Reilley Rankin joined generic searches for the LPGA and the golf channel.

What else do you expect? The competition in the women’s game is not that high. Annika is a phenomenal player, but playing against men is different. She may rank better than some men golfers. However, I still think that she has to stay in the women’s game where she is expected to dominate.
