Black Democrats pushing for more visibility for black candidates

Black Democrats who accuse the DNC and DCCC of not endorsing black candidates enough are going to meet with the groups, reports Buzzfeed.

Quentin James, the co-founder of Collective PAC, says, “We’ve seen a lot of excitement over the past few months for candidates across the country, and these are great Democrats — but we also want to see that same excitement for candidates like Stacey Abrams in Georgia and Andrew Gillum in Florida.”

In spite of the group’s strides towards equality, many believe it is poorly timed. Black grassroots groups are criticizing the movement for being “an afterthought rather than a priority.”

However, others are praising the movement. These people believe that any form of greater recognition for African-Americans is a good thing.
