Mika Riddick, 19, of Glen Burnie, Maryland had her perfect in prom in 2016. She was reminiscing on her own prom night when an idea struck – she still had her dress…why not let someone else wear it?

Riddick knows that many young women are dealing with financial difficulties: “They’re paying a thousand college fees or maybe working overtime to give their paychecks to their families. These are all the things I’ve witnessed young women go through while I was in school. Or, honestly, there are just girls who are struggling to find a dress.”

Riddick’s kindess started a chain reaction when her tweet offering up her gown went viral. Tons of young girls are tweeting out photos of their dresses, hoping to lend them out to a girl in need. Some of the girls are also offering shoes and makeup artists as well.

Riddick lent out her dress to a high schooler who came to her house with her mom to try on the dress. It fit perfectly. She will be wearing it to her junior prom on April 28th.
