In Akron, Ohio, Jennifer Simmons, a Metro RTA driver makes her way on her route through West Market Street, when suddenly she feels that something isn’t right. Dizzy and weak, she loses her ability to control the bus.

A passenger, Shirley Blanks, immediately jumped to action. She figured out how to pull the bus over and park it safely, all while taking care of the sick driver. It turns out, however, that Blanks and Simmons have actually been best friends for thirty years, but this was Blanks first time ever riding on Simmon’s bus. Simmons believed this coincidence was not random, but a way in which Blanks acted as her guardian angel.

After a week in the hospital, Simmons is cleared to drive again.
