It’s that time of year again.
Time for Punxsutawney Phil, the groundhog, to tell us whether we can start preparing for Spring, or suffer through a long, cold, winter. This year, Phil saw his shadow and has predicted another six weeks of winter.
While Phil is certainly the most well-known “weather predictor” he is not always right. In fact, in the 132 year tradition, he has predicted a long winter over 100 times. Since 1988, Phil has been “right” 14 times and “wrong” 16 times. All this so say, it’s safe to assume that you can take Phil’s prediction with a grain of salt.
Who knows, we might be needing to get our spring clothes out of hibernation soon.
