Hannah and Charlie Lucas, two teenage siblings, created an application that alerts friends and family when the user is in physical or emotional distress and is in need of assistance. Hannah Lucas came up with the idea for the app after she was diagnosed with a disease that causes her to faint often. Her illness led to depression, and the teen began to self harm.

She wished there was a way she could alert her family when she was feeling hopeless and alone. Charlie, her brother, 13, equipt with coding skills wanted to fulfill her wish and with the help of a development company, created an app called “notOK“. The app uses your location and contacts to send text alerts when the user is in need of help.

Hannah Lucas comments on the success of the application: “The reaction we’ve heard has been really positive, especially from parents and kids suffering with anxiety.”
